Dancing Anyways
a monthly dance party for women · Boone, NC
music > everything. A monthly dance party for women to let it out, new to Boone. Indie to loosen up, then throwbacks, hip-hop, and just enough EDM and trap to make leaving early feel like a crime. Leave the weight of the world at the door.

Nothing matches that.
When the dance floor fades into headlights. A dreamy collection of synthwave, cinematic electronica, and late-night dopamine for the ones who never want the night to end 🌙
◆ left917 Ten years ago this month, Stranger Things showed up and Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein's Volume 1 followed it out the door. I didn't know it then, but that's where this started. Not the neon stuff. Not the 80s synth pop revival everybody grabbed onto. The other side of the machine. Thematic, spooky, patient, the kind of thing John Carpenter has been doing since he scored his own movies because nobody else would. Ten years in and I'm still chasing it. Expect more of it here, regularly.
A collection of songs for the beautiful darker side of ourselves. Deep electronic pulses, hypnotic synths, heavy bass lines, and emotional melodies that hit somewhere between euphoria and melancholy. The kind of tracks that make you want to dance harder while feeling everything DEEPER. It’s the sound of midnight drives, underground clubs, old memories, and the moment when the lights go down and the world disappears. A little dark, a little dramatic. For the times when you feel a little heavy… and dance anyway.
If you know, you know. Between 2004 and 2011, indie dance nights were truly special. Tiny dark clubs, sticky floors, flashing lights, and DJs playing songs that somehow made everyone in the room lose their minds. This playlist is a trip back to that era.. the tracks that filled dance floors, introduced us to our favorite bands, and made us feel like we were part of something real.
◆ left917 Are you kidding me? @dancinganyways bottled the smell of PBR and American Spirits into a playlist that feels like hearing Wolf Like Me for the first time. If you were there, this nostalgia sits right down beside you. If you weren't, you'll wish you had been. Give it a spin.
A love letter to Fourth of July. Classic rock echoing across the yard, the smell of charcoal in the air, sparklers, cold drinks, hot dogs, faded denim, and bare feet in the grass. Press play, turn it up, and let the music take care of the rest. Now someone hand me a beer!
All my FAVE heavy bass electronic tracks in one place. Turn the bass all the way up and viiiiibe.
A little soundtrack for summer. Made for river floats, mountain drives, campfires, and golden hours. Every song was handpicked- no algorithm, just years of collecting the tracks that always seem to find the right moment.
